A former student at the École Normale Supérieure (Ulm, A/L 97), agrégée in history, PhD in contemporary history, Chloé Maurel is currently a history and geography professor in the European section (German) at Charles de Gaulle High School in Rosny-sous-Bois, as well as a history teacher in khâgnes (literary higher school preparatory classes) at Louis-le-Grand High School in Paris.

Affiliated researcher at IHMC, her research focuses on the history of the United Nations, cultural history and global history.

From 2010 to 2013, she created and lead the “World history” seminar at the École Normale Supérieure - IHMC (2010-2011 programme2011-2012 programmeprogramme 2012-2013 programme).

Her thesis, “Unesco, from 1945 to 1974”, prepared under the direction of Pascal Ory, was defended with highest honours at Pantheon-Sorbonne University - Paris 1 in 2006. It is available online (without the annexed documents). The paper version, complete with the annexed documents, is available for consultation at the Unesco Archives (Place Fontenoy, Paris) et at the Sorbonne University Library.
